Website part I

Hey Yadira,
My plan for this week is to add my website evaluations to the website as well as the other three aditional websites we each need. I also am going to get started on our standards. I know that as we modify our website the standards may need to be changed but we can atleast get a good start on these. Also next week we need to complete our final inspiration which we have discussed adding pictures to. I think that would be a good thing for us to work on during our next lab session. If you need anything please contact me. Thanks!!!!

Team Web Site

Hello Megan,

The website that we are creating is for teachers. Therefore, it would contain information and resources on how to implement project-based learning and it should be develope in a clear. logical way with activities, etc. Our syllabus provides with additional information about the intention and purpose of the development of the Team Web Site. I like to start working on it today.

Assignment VIII: Colaborative Podcast

Hello Megan,

We have discussed that inquiry and team-work are two concepts from the textbook that we want to include in our collaborative podcasting. However, if you decide you want to go with different concepts let me know so that I do not do the same concept. I think that the concept of technology is a core/main tool to Project-Based Learning. It is an important concept or tool for discovery for all learners. I will have my rough draft write-up by Thursday. I'll see you soon!

Yadira
Hey Yadira,
Lesson Plan 2 is not a problem I have done a topic away from the contamination aspect. This week I am planning on making a write up of the information I plan on presenting in our podcasts. I also plan on coming to the open lab on Friday to record the information I will be saying. The podcasts are due Fri April 2, so we have plenty of time to complete the assignment. I know we discussed having you talk about the contamination aspect during the podcast but I would like to get together sometime and discuss the concepts we will be including. Let me know if you need anything.
Thanks,
Megan Green

Assignment VII : TaskStream Lesson Plan 2, using Excel

Hi Megan,

I just like you to have in mind that neither one of us for this assignment can turn in a lesson plan with the same concept or neither one will get points for the assignment. This assignment is due on Friday. My data collection lesson plan will be on the types of pollutants that students can see everyday that can float down a storm drain and contaminate water. If you have any question please let me know.

Yadira
Have a good week!

Assinment V

Hi Megan,

Yes, I kow that you are doing your lesson plan I with technology; my lesson plan will include making a poster board on ways water is contaminated. I like to remind you that our lessons are suppose to be on different concepts within our water resources' topic. That I do know. I am doing second grade level. What grade are you doing? I know our teacher said to do different concepts for our lessons, but does that mean to do different grade levels as well? The syllabus on week 6 only mentions that if two members of the team use the same lesson, neither will receive points for this assignment.

Take care and have a safe spring break,
Yadira

Thanks,

Assignment IV

Assignment IV Part A:

We are planning to have our second grade students in the Kalamazoo School District map out the different locations that we have been discussing throughout our Water Resources Unit. These locations may include cities on the river, lakes and dams that are tributaries for the Kalamazoo River. We have provided a map example that shows six different locations along the Kalamazoo River. We would like the students to describe the purpose of the locations that they select in relationship to the Kalamazoo River. For example, the Southern Branch of Lake Michigan is the largest tributary of the Kalamazoo River. When the students have chosen their locations and described its particular function, they do not have to make a route connecting the locations, but to give a descriptor on how that location relates to the Kalamazoo River.

Assignment IV epals and Google Maps

View Route of Kalmazoo River in a larger map

This is our example map for our lesson. We would do this activity with second graders and above, any younger the students would not yet be ready to handle the complexity. When working with a higher grade level we would modify the assignment to include more locations and more discriptions. This example however is based on a second grade criterium. The activity includes researching the Kalamazoo River and its related locations. The students also need to make the connection of how each of the locations are related to the Kalmazoo River.

Assignment IV

Hi Yadira,
Yes I am planning on meeting you in the computer lab today before our Sped class. I have class previous to this but I will be done at 12:15 and we will have a good 30-45 minutes to work on it. The assignment that needs to be completed for tomorrow is the google maps/ e pals assignment. Our concept map is not as big of a priority as of now. We should have plenty of time to get our map done but remember we need to comunicate through our gmail folder that I sent you in order to get a good grade on this assignment. So whatever we do not complete before class we can do independently at home and just work through epals. Anyways we can talk more this afternoon. Ill meet you in the compter lab of sangren around 12:15.

Thanks Yadira!

Evaluation Websites & Water Resources Mapping

hsahernandez said...

Hi megan!

I think that our websites are not the same, so I believe we are good. I have three different ones than the ones you have. These are:
http: //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/water_resources
http://ga.water.usgs.gov/edu/water.html
http://pubs.gov/fs/fs-027-01.
Our web evaluations are due tomorrow, 02/12/2010 by 11:59pm. As far as our water resources mapping, I will continue thinking for other ideas than the ones we have thought already about. If you have any questions let me know about the web evaluations or the mapping let me know.

Thank you,
Yadira

Web Evaluations

Hi Yadira!
These are the websites that I plan on evaluating. Let me know if you were already planning on using one of these and I can choose a different one. Also I plan on working on our Google Map assignment over the weekend so that we will have a good start o Monday. Let me know if you have any questions.

The Assignment II - Part A -- Collaborative Inspiration is due on 02/05/10. There would be open Lab on Friday from 1-4. I am planning on attending to it.
